Love Hate Show
Last week at the StolenSpace Love/Hate show - Just a heads up. Two new pieces are on display should you find the time to make it down there.
Apologies to anyone who has been eagerly awaiting posts to this Blog since the last post, I'm officially crap at talking crap. Although there's a lot more work on its way in the next coming months, a whole body of it. Energy Permitting.

SloMo Jelly
No Comment. Well, other than I'd love to paint some stills from it(the reds would be a nighmare though)! and check it out in HD.
...so there were a few comments after all.

Pics Soon (*Boring preach alert*)
So, work on the new Piece is going really well, roughs are complete and final painting starts this week before construction next. Expect some sneaky (blurry phone) pics very soon.
This new piece is a nice breathe of fresh air for me, being alot more hand-on with constructing something opens up a lot of potential for other pieces in the series, its very different from stretching the canvas you paint on so more 3D is something I'm likely to pursue depending on how the piece goes down. I'd like to up-scale the work too which is always exciting. Larger paintings are what I'm really about.
Boring Part:
Its important to break down your process as much as possible I find, it gets you out of ruts where you constantly feel as though you need to abide by a set of rules or adhere to certain aesthetics in your 'style' (*cringe*). The point at which you think you have a style is when you seriously need to think about long-term creative plans as you've essentially given your work and process a sell-by date. Although this is usually the case in commercial art and not finer art.
I don't usually preach, but its just something that has struck me lately about a lot of work I've been looking at.
Boring bit over - You Stay Classy San Diego/London/wherever you're reading this.

New work: Phase one
Spent most of the weekend cutting and sanding down hardboard, not my favourite surface to paint on but it suits this particular project best.
The aim of the new work is a return to portraiture, slightly less dark in tone but still staying with regular themes; jigsawed faces, exploration of facial features in context to a persons character.
So here's a sample pic of the surface which I'm going to be painting on - Abstract so far but its just a section so all will come together in the show. Also, you'll have to excuse the bad quality photo, its a crappy phone shot.
Initial painting begins this week..keep an eye out

Madre - A Telling Tale
Here is the latest cut from my friend Andrew Telling about my good friend (I feel like I'm name dropping) Wordtomother. If i could quickly set the scene for you, you'll be able to get on with the watching and less of the reading
"Madre is a short film that documents artist Wordtomother time at Fame Festival, Italy in 2010. The film features Lucy Mclauchlan, Cyop&Kaf and the man responsible for Fame festival Angelino Milano"
Much hilarity provided at the start by Words.
Sorted, ENJOY!
PS.Amazing Job as usual by Andy, he always nails the mood no matter the situation or the environment. Beautifully scored by Lucasse himself in collaboration with Buddy Peace.
