So, work on the new Piece is going really well, roughs are complete and final painting starts this week before construction next. Expect some sneaky (blurry phone) pics very soon.

This new piece is a nice breathe of fresh air for me, being alot more hand-on with constructing something opens up a lot of potential for other pieces in the series, its very different from stretching the canvas you paint on so more 3D is something I'm likely to pursue depending on how the piece goes down. I'd like to up-scale the work too which is always exciting. Larger paintings are what I'm really about.

Boring Part:

Its important to break down your process as much as possible I find, it gets you out of ruts where you constantly feel as though you need to abide by a set of rules or adhere to certain aesthetics in your 'style' (*cringe*). The point at which you think you have a style is when you seriously need to think about long-term creative plans as you've essentially given your work and process a sell-by date. Although this is usually the case in commercial art and not finer art.

I don't usually preach, but its just something that has struck me lately about a lot of work I've been looking at.

Itsa Bitsa Info

Howdy all, especially all the new 'all' that are now reading this here blog.

Firstly, a big thanks to everyone that turned up for the opening of the show, busy times. Much fun was had and much chat was pelted out of my mouth..shout out to the always entertaining Fairhead brothers (shameless links HERE and HERE) my boy WTM (another shameless link) and everyone else who made it down. The show is still on until the 9th of May and its getting great feedback so hope you can pop down.

A few things to keep you posted on;

Solo Show

On the 22nd of April until the 9th or May I will mostly be having my 1st Solo Show and where better to have it than StolenSpace.

More details and sneak peeps coming soon aswell as flyers and the show title. I already know what its going to be called, cant wait to get it all out there! two months of non stop painting ahead.

Havent blogged for a while...so im blogging now..

Howdy Folks, Just a quick update really.

StolenSpace 'Winter Warmers' show went down a storm, rammed night and many of my good friends came along to REPRESENT. If you didn't get a chance to see it my work can be found here or alternatively IN THE FLESH for about another week (until 20/12.09). The show had many highlights so it'd be a crime* to point some out individually.

New work is being produced for a two man show later in the year..I say later, I mean 'soon later'.. rather than 'later later'..so keep your eyes peeled.

also, I would like to leave you with this video I found the other day..kept me watching right to the end. its a tad on the 'Kelly watch the stars' side though.

..on the 3rd of Dec I will mostly be showing two pieces at the 'Winter Warmers' Group Show at StolenSpace; am super pleased to be working with them.

..a chance for people to see some of my newer work in the flesh!



The show is up from 03.12.09 - 20.12.09 and will have many familiar faces in the show.
